For the last 86 years, they have wandered from decade to decade in search of an elusive world championship. Now, in late October of this extraordinary season, at a time when they seem more determined than ever, someone also seems content to give it to them.
Now after rolling the Yanks the Sox are unstoppable. Teamwork, energy, confidence, and now poise to take the trophy.
At the minute I write this its the bottom of the 8th inning, the Red Sox Nation is a few outs from ending 96 years of misery. Congratulations to all Boston Red Sox fans, glad I was alive to see your dream come true.
Isn't it ironic how many other Boston teams ended their droughts against teams from St.Louis.
Here's me raising a glass to long suffering Boston Red Sox fans everywhere, your day has come. As for me, got to run, I want to watch the final innings of a long, long journey - one that teaches what I have always said - HAVE FAITH and good things will eventually happen.
